About The Event

Advancing a circular economy is at the foundation of British Columbia’s approach to addressing plastic waste and pollution. Building on B.C.’s already well-established extended producer responsibility (EPR) programs, the Government of British Columbia’s CleanBC Plastics Action Plan is helping to establish a circular economy for plastics. The event will highlight provincial actions that, through regulations, funding programs, Indigenous partnerships, and business-led initiatives are reducing waste by limiting the number of single-use items we use, limiting the use of materials that are difficult to reuse or recycle and keeping what we do use working for us for longer.

Presenters:

  • Laurel Nash, Assistant Deputy Minister, Environmental Protection Division, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy
  • Avery Gottfried, Senior Policy Specialist, Circular Communities, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy
