 About The Plastic Action Zone

At the Plastic Action Zone, key partners and stakeholders will convene, network, and host events to demonstrate domestic and global action, innovation, and collaboration across all levels of government, with Indigenous Peoples, industry, non-government organizations, youth, international organizations, and researchers to end plastic waste and pollution.


Programming will run from April 23 to April 29, 2024, and aims to:

  • Profile Canadian leadership by all orders of government, Indigenous communities, industry, non-profit organizations and others through science-based solutions, innovation and collaboration;

  • Facilitate dialogue between domestic and international organizations to foster global collaboration;

  • Promote Indigenous perspectives and contributions; 

  • Uphold Canadian human rights values and priorities (including 2SLGBTQI+, people of color, persons with disabilities, and gender inclusivity); and

  • Complement negotiations with programming that facilitates awareness raising and information exchange, including through art and multiple ways of communication and expressions.

The program will include a wide variety of event formats, including, panel discussions, roundtables, workshops, demonstrations, etc. 


To attend an event, registration in advance is strongly encouraged as spaces are limited. Participant registration will open in April.
